Land Looking and Breakfast
At 5:33 am this morning the low thumping beat from the stereo of our rent-house neighbors woke us up and it was not the best way to wake up on a Sunday morning. J finally got up and put his clothes on and walked over there at 5:45 am and told them to turn down the stereo, it was so loud we were woken up by it. When he returned he told me he could smell the alcohol before he even knocked on the door. Since we were now awake anyway, the pot of coffee was started and it was actually nice to sit out on the porch waiting for the sun to come up, while we drank hot fresh brewed coffee, the kind that is ground from whole beans and make the whole moment that much more special. We discussed the idea (the now even more pressing idea) to move out away from town, maybe find a dozen acres or so and build a home that has all the things we ever could wish for, namely space around it and no loud neighbors. By 9 am the whole house was awake. We wasted no time loading the kids into the truck and went for a drive around the country roads south of town to see if we could find any For Sale signs with acerage we might be able to afford, maybe in the not to distant future if we save our money. The drive was nice if for no other reason that it was a lovely sunny fall day, and it was Sunday, early, before all the church traffic. After an hour or so of driving around we stopped in at the Taco Place restaurant where they also serve up a hearty country breakfast. J bought a paper out of the paper machine and browsed the real estate section while we waited for the food. That is what this picture is showing.
