Singing
My first grader is singing in the kitchen this afternoon when I come home from work:
"Mom, today W downloaded the entire Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the computer!" Before my eyes had opened all the way from the longish blink that was my response to this report, W corrected his little brother, "I only downloaded one song. Mike TeaVee."
And as he skips down the hall he sings...
...and then he plops down on the couch to watch The Simpsons.
Oh, the pride that welled up in my heart...
>>the song Z was singing was his version of Comfort Eagle, by Cake.
>>the lyrics from Mike TeaVee were found in the book Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
Doesn't matter if you're skinnyAs part of his job description, as Younger Brother, he is obliged to fullfill his responsibility of being irresistibly charming while teetering on the brink of total rebellion. In addition, he must fullfill his daily quota of tattle-telling on Big Brother:
Doesn't matter if you're fat
You can dress up like a 'somethin'
In your onion head hat - DUDE!
The most important thing we've learned,
So far as children are concerned,
Is never, NEVER, NEVER let
Them near your television set --
Or better still, just don't install
The idiotic thing at all.
...and then he plops down on the couch to watch The Simpsons.
Oh, the pride that welled up in my heart...
