ten ten

Today is my birthday. I am 27. Or 28.
No, I am kidding. I am old enough to have grandchildren. (I don't!)
But it doesn't matter. I feel like I am 22 still.

This morning I woke up at 6:54 am and I was wide awake. This is so unusual. Why can't I wake up at 6:54 am during the work week and be wide awake?

So I get up to a dark and quiet house and put on a pot of coffee. It's wet and mist-rainy outside. About 15 degrees Celsius. While the coffee is brewing I turn on the dinosaur computer, I have named it Dellosaurus, and check email. There is a Grattis på Födelsedagen från Pappa!

Maybe half an hour later J got up and joined me at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. We migrated to the living room and were watching the Sunday morning nonsense when Pappa called on the phone. That's about the time Z got up and came and snuggled up on the couch with us.
Eventually the entire household was awake and up. And it was still rainy.

J cooked breakfast this morning. He made pancakes from scratch.

After this late in the morning breakfast we were starting to think about what we might do today. W has a birthday party to go to at 2:30 so there was no idea in taking off on some road trip or outing. SO we have been hangin out here all day.

Z has been sewing more felt finger puppets, and I started another knitted hat, this one for W. J has been reading and W has played Zelda.

Right before lunch I gathered everyone and said "Let's all take a walk up the hill!" And so we all put our shoes on and went for a walk up the hill, despite the drizzly misty rain. Even Peper came. We were all damp to the skin when we came home, but so what! You gotta take a walk in the rain sometimes.

Now it's about time to drive the boys to their friend's birthday party. To the bowling alley. A Bowling Birthday Party. I am not gonna bowl today. I am bringing my knitting. It's so hip to knit.

Haha! Used to knitting was for grannies. Now knitting is so in vogue that it makes me hip! And I am definitely not a granny.
