At 3 am I awoke and I don't know what woke me. I was thirsty. Maybe the heater dried me out. I will turn down the heater tonight, add extra blankets and warm pajamas instead. Enjoyed a warm cup of Rooibos Chai tea at 4 am. Decaffeinated. Turned on the computer, and as I waited for it to boot up I accidentally knocked over my cup of teaand it spilled and there was tea dripping off the computer desk in the back onto all the cords and outlets. I turned off the computer, unplugged the main plug in the wall, retrieved a long pull of papertowels from the kitchen and began wiping up the mess.
At 4:12 am in the morning I am now more awake than I was. Made myslef another cup of tea, prepare the coffee maker for in the morning and set the timer on it to begin brewing at 6 am. Then I cuddle up on the living room couch with Peper (she makes a wonderful warm snuggly foot warmer!) and started to read East of Eden. After only 3 pages, I was sleepy again. I turn off the light and drift to sleep on the couch. Afterall, I certainly don't want to disturb Peper who is snoring her doggie snores, and is warmer than ever.
I sleep well. Hear the alarm in the bedroom go off at 6 am, and I hear the coffee maker begin it's brewing. Get up. Return to the bedroom and find Z in there and the room smells like boy farts. Whatever. I crawl under the layers of blankets and the down cover anyway, and fall asleep instantly.
Pappa calls a couple of hours later. My voice is almost gone - very hoarse. Must be the heater. After a nice conversation with pappa I get up and head to the kitchen where I find that J has saved the left over coffee in a thermos before he headed to work. (See above photo)
It is cohhhhld outside, and rainy drizzly. I find W in the hobby room playing Solitaire on the computer. I guess J hooked it up this morning - I am sure he was wondering why it was all unplugged.
Z gets up. He has a tummy ache. He wants toast. And water. W has a bowl of puffed wheat cereal. I have a cup of coffee. And begin reading the paper. I have decided to use linen napkins from now on. The paper napkins in the napkin holder on the table are for decoration only.
Today we are going to get out Christmas decorations and probably assemble the artificial Christmas tree.
