Sometime around 1 pm today I will morph into a zombie. Guaranteed. Why? Because I started cleaning the hobby room last night, and instead of just cleaning it up, I did a full blown feng shui like cleansing. I was up until after 2 am doing this, and I wasn't really tired, so I just stayed up until I was done. Two large bags of junk - poof, gone. (Anyway, it takes longer to clean out a hobby room at night when I do it mostly only during the commercials because I am also watching the movie Pleasantville on tv - because I have never seen it and I always wanted to.) Hopefully I will morph back to normal by this evening when the girls arrive for Chick Create.
This morning (at 8, after 3 1/2 hours of sleep) I went to the office Holiday Party which was a fancy breakfast at a local fancy Bed & Breakfast. As is tradition, there was a gift exchange - a 'white elephant' or 'dirty santa' type of gift exchange.
The gift I wrapped and brought to the exchange was a book I really love. The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. Not exactly a shabby gift, if you ask me. There were some great white elephant type gifts - a chia pet, a hula girl wobbly, the idiots rubiks cube (all sides are white) and so on. There were bottles of wine, too, and several decorative holiday candles. And then there was the new U2 CD.
Guess who got the U2 CD.......... (Hint: Me!) It is especially sweet because this is the first year I got something I actually truly and totally will enjoy.
The recipient of The Alchemist has not realized their good fortune, yet.
