Hemma Mamma

W broke his perfect attendance record today.
This morning he took one bite of his scrambled egg sandwich and put it back on the plate and stared into the floating microscopic dust particles in the air in front of his eyes.
Then he complained of a sore throat and head ache. When I felt his forehead I could tell he had a low grade fever, so we decided to take it easy today at home. Nothing beats a little bug like good old fashioned rest and plenty of fluids.
At 9 am emerged from the bedroom:
W: I want to go to school now.
Me: (Feeling his forehead, noting glazed look in his eyes,) No, honey, you are still running a fever.
W: I really want to go. I feel better.
Me: Sweety, you have a fever. That means your body is fighting off some bug. If you go to school not only could you be contagious, but you will probably end up feeling worse later.
W: I feel fine. I'm going out to the car.
Me: Um, why do you want to go to school, really?
W: They're serving good lunch today.
[The picture above was from this morning when we drove to pick up my computer at work. He fell asleep on the way home, and then slept three hours once we got back home.]
With a little "extra time" I did a few things for me today as well. I began reading my brand new book by Amy Tan.

I also played with clay and ran a couple of reports for work and did a little punch embroidery and baked.
