Ryck!

In Swedish there is an expression that seems to really fit me, especially lately.
It's something like, "Jag fick ett ryck att göra det."
Let's see if I can figure out how to translate it... It means approximately "I felt a need to spontaneously do it."
In other words, it's about doing something on the spur of the moment, at the very instant when inspiration strikes.
That is what today is about for me.
This scatterplanning behavior of mine is driving my hubby crazy, so he went fishing! Which is fine with me. He wanted me to come along, but it would not be good for me to sit for three or four hours contained on a boat in the middle of a lake when I have the need to act on my impulses.
It started yesterday at work. I was feeling physical symptoms like headache, blurry vision, aches in my lower back and neck, and I had a serious problem concentrating on my work. This morning I called in and explained to my boss that I was staying home today to 'nip this in the bud' so I don't get really sick later.
So here I am. Today it has been all about spur of the moment, spontaneous activities! I have to allow myself this freedom once in awhile. It is my version of prozac!
